Beijing (FN), Feb. 10 – Chinese president Xi Jinping expressed his interest in developing agriculture and aquaculture in the area around Cambodia's Tonle Sap Lake.

The Chinese president spoke during a courtesy call by Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen on Friday morning (Feb. 10) in Beijing, China.

In response to the Chinese president's interest, the premier welcomed and supported the initiative to establish a fish and rice corridor in Northwestern Cambodia.

Samdech continued that the kingdom already has three economic poles such as Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and the Northeast part of the country, and the kingdom will establish the fourth economic pole in the Northwest.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed to boost cooperation in energy security, focusing on green energy.
