Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 15 – President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) tycoon Kith Meng paid a courtesy call on Kuwaiti ambassador to Cambodia Mohamad S-Alhjri, held on Wednesday (Feb 15) at the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce office.

The Kuwaiti ambassador briefed tycoon Kith Meng on the intention of the Embassy of Kuwait to cooperate with the CCC to promote trade and Cambodia-Kuwait business community relations in key areas, in particular energy and rice exports from Cambodia to Kuwait.

Taking this occasion, the president of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce invited tycoon Kith Meng to lead the CCC delegation to visit Kuwait at an appropriate time. Apart from economic and trade cooperation, the Kuwaiti Embassy also participated in humanitarian activities with associations in Cambodia.

For his part, Kith Meng warmly welcomed the ambassador's cooperation initiative and emphasized that the kingdom is abundant in rice that can supply to the Kuwaiti market, and Cambodia needs Kuwaiti expertise in the energy sector, especially oil and gas.

President of the CCC requested the ambassador to encourage Kuwaiti investors to invest in the above sectors and informed them Cambodia's economic growth, potential sectors, and peace and stability in the country, which are important factors for investors. In addition, he proposed to promote tourism between the two countries.

Lastly, Kith Meng will lead a delegation on a business visit to Kuwait at an appropriate time and welcome cooperation in all sectors with the Kuwaiti Embassy, including humanitarian activities.

Kuwait is a West Asian country with a thriving economy and is rich in oil and gas resources. Kuwait is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
