BANGKOK, July 13 (AFP) - Thailand's parliament opened Thursday ahead of a crucial vote to decide the country's new prime minister.

"I will start (the parliament) to follow the agenda, which is the vote for candidates to be prime minister," said House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, as he welcomed 500 MPs and 250 senators.
