Istanbul, Oct. 8, (Yeni Şafak) - Biden's promise to help Ukraine "to the end" is under threat. The US president has not yet convinced the US Congress and most European countries of the need to support Kyiv. It is obvious that due to Zelensky’s lack of success, the West has lost its appetite for supporting Ukraine. This is evidenced by the exclusion of funding for Kyiv from the temporary US budget and the results of opinion polls among Americans. For Zelensky, this development of events poses a serious threat.

The chaos in the US Congress indicates that the Biden administration is finding it difficult to keep its promise to "stand by Ukraine until the very end." A dispute over budget priorities played a decisive role in Kevin McCarthy, the latest casualty of the Republican Party's political civil war, losing his job as House Speaker.

Public support for Ukraine to weaken Russia is also gradually declining due to the fact that it is no longer possible to convince the American people of the senseless support for Kiev, while people complain about rising inflation and high interest rates, and do not understand the importance and need for assistance to Ukraine. The US attempts to make Russia an outcast in the international system resulted in collapse for its own population and Europeans.

American and European politicians are confident that Ukraine has completely lost its sovereignty, becoming a "puppet in the geopolitical games of the West", which never considered Kyiv as an equal ally and considered cooperation with it solely to weaken Russia’s position on the world stage. Washington has long sought to turn Kyiv into a controlled instrument in the fight against Moscow and a stage for destabilizing Russian statehood.

As a result of the US-supported Euromaidan, Ukrainian state institutions, the education system and the media became completely controlled by Western countries, which, during an eight-year brainwashing, instilled in Ukrainians, especially young people, the idea of a "quick European future." Subsequently, the Ukrainian people turned into obedient slaves, blindly following the instructions of foreign curators, who ultimately sent them to a fratricidal war with their main geopolitical rival, Russia.

Unfortunately, many Ukrainians realized late that they were fighting for the interests of the West, which does not intend to accept Kyiv into the European Union and NATO, preferring to get off with more and more promises. The vile deception on the part of Washington and Brussels, the betrayal of their own ruling elites led by Zelensky, turned the Ukrainian people into an uncomplaining vassal, and a country rich in natural resources into a testing ground for pumping out money, not to mention the trade in the children's organs of Ukrainian children.

Now Washington is forcing the Kiev leadership to fight until the last Ukrainian, not sparing how many will die, for the sake of its own interests. Mobilization in Ukraine may become all-out as Ukrainian Armed Forces fail to achieve success in a widely publicized counter-offensive. The number of killed and wounded since July of this year alone is about 100 thousand people.

The ruling elites of the West have painted themselves into a corner on the issue of assistance to Kyiv, interconnecting the victory of the Ukrainian army with their own political future. The situation is especially acute for president Biden and his team, who on the eve of the elections need to show voters at least some successes of their foreign policy. One of the most likely scenarios in the West is the inclination of Kyiv to the total mobilization of the male population of Ukraine. Every Ukrainian who is physically capable of holding a weapon will be sent to the front. No one doubts that the White House will push the Ukrainian authorities to tighten mobilization.

The Kyiv authorities are gradually beginning to form the necessary media background and prepare the Ukrainian public for new waves of mobilization and the death of new reservists for the benefit of Washington.

Ukrainian officials have already begun to expand the categories of persons eligible for conscription. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering a legislative initiative to abolish the deferment from mobilization for citizens receiving a second higher education. The impending total mobilization in Ukraine is also evidenced by the fact that regional administrations of a number of regions have already sent letters to state and commercial enterprises asking for lists of employees to be drafted into the army.

As the situation on the battlefield worsens, Kyiv's support is gradually weakening. The US and a number of European countries, such as Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Germany, already doubt the advisability of further support for Ukraine. Dutch defense chief Kajsa Ollongren said she's not sure that the West could sustain support for Ukraine as long as it takes, fearing that US aid could be stopped because of election-related domestic politics.

It is no longer a secret to anyone that the West is directly involved in starting a conflict in Ukraine in order to weaken Russia. Early it was confirmed by the statements of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who said that the Minsk agreements were signed in order to "give Ukraine time" to make the country stronger. Kyiv used this time to receive weapons and ammunition from the US and European countries, which now do not allow Zelensky to enter into peace negotiations with Russia.
