Paris (FN), Jan. 15 – Accor Group expressed optimism that the tourism sector in Cambodia will grow and improve in 2024.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Maud Bailly, Chief Executive Officer of Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, also a member of Accor Group Executive Committee on Monday (Jan. 15) in Paris, France.

Maud Bailly thanked Samdech Thipadei for taking the time to allow her and her colleagues to pay a courtesy call and to inform the progress of the business activities of Accor Group in Cambodia. She informed about the better situation and the progress of tourism in Cambodia and expressed her optimism that the kingdom’s tourism sector in 2024 will grow and improve.

Maud Bailly added that Accor Group has been investing in the hotel sector with modern and mid-range hotels and other boutique hotels, which enhances the image and prestige of Cambodia. She underlined that through Sofitel, which operates businesses around the world, it has contributed to promoting the culture and excellence of the Angkor resort area to encourage more tourists to visit Siem Reap in 2024.

In response, Samdech Thipadei welcomed and was pleased to meet with Maud Bailly and her delegations and thanked the company for its investment in Cambodia .

Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Royal Government of Cambodia has launched a special program "Visit Siem Reap 2024" which will help revitalize tourism, create employment opportunities, and contribute to economic growth in the post-COVID19 period. During the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged ACCOR Group to further expand its investments in the hotel and other sectors, capitalizing on the ongoing recovery in the tourism industry.
