New Delhi (FN), Feb. 24 – Neak Oknha Hun Lak, representing President of the Cambodian Oknha Association (COA) Neak Oknha Ly Yong Phat, paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Ambassador to India Koy Kuong on Saturday (Feb. 24) in New Delhi.

Neak Oknha Hun Lak conveyed greetings from the President of the COA to Ambassador Koy Kuong.

During the meeting, Neak Oknha Hun Lak provided an overview of the Association, its vision, and mission. He also highlighted the Association's active contributions to the Royal Government, particularly in fostering partnerships to promote trade activities and attract investors to Cambodia.

Furthermore, Hun Lak discussed an upcoming business forum aimed at facilitating connections and partnerships between Cambodian association members operating across various sectors and Indian investors. He underscored India's vast potential, large population, and standing as the world's third-largest economy. He also noted the significant increase in Cambodia-India trade balance in 2023, reaching over USD 486 million.

For his part, Ambassador Koy Kuong commended the achievements and efforts of the COA under the leadership of Neak Oknha Ly Yong Phat. He affirmed the embassy's commitment to promoting investment opportunities in Cambodia and fostering dialogue with Indian businesses to bolster economic cooperation.

Moreover, Ambassador Kuong emphasized the role of the association in mobilizing future investors through collaboration with the embassy, highlighting its importance in the private sector's engagement in national development and job creation.

On the occasion, the ambassador also revealed ongoing efforts to establish direct flights between India and Siem Reap, Cambodia, by April or no later than June, aiming to expand tourism potential between the two countries.

In conclusion, Ambassador Koy Kuong pledged continued coordination and cooperation with the Cambodian Oknha Association to explore further opportunities for bilateral business engagement, including facilitating future business meetings through effective communication mechanisms.
