Beijing (FN), Dec. 8 - The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) and Youth Federation of China hosted a milestone China-Cambodia Friendship Meeting in Beijing, China to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Cambodia-China diplomatic relations.

The event was held on 6 December 2018, with the presence of Her Excellency Khek Cai Mealy Sysoda, Cambodian ambassador to China, youths from UYFC, and over 200 Cambodian students studying in China.

Hun Many, President of the UYFC, commemorated the establishment of the official diplomatic relations between the two countries on 19 July 1958, three years after King Father Norodom Sihanouk met with Chinese Prime Minister Zhou Enlai in Bandung, Indonesia during a non-aligned movement conference in April 1955. Since then, the bilateral ties have been constantly developed and elevated to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in 2010.

Hun Many said that on behalf of the next generation, youth need to communicate with each other and help protecting one another in every circumstance on the basis of mutual trust, regardless of whether our country is big or small.

Exchanges of youth between the two countries also aimed to share experience and practical achievements to emphasize the importance of strengthening the relationship between the two countries in order to extend economic benefits and cultural and multi-faceted development.

Over the last five years, the UYFC delegation have attended many youth exchange programs, including but not limited to ASEAN Youth Culture, ASEAN Youth Leadership Training Course and other training courses.
