Phnom Penh (FN), June 3 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that from now on he will address the exiled former opposition leader Sam Rainsy “the dog of the traitor” that is easy to control, speaking Monday at the Royal University of Phnom Penh graduation ceremony at Koh Pich.

“Urging people to arrest Hun Sen means waging war against Hun Sen. I announce to play with this dog [Sam Rainsy] till the end, not just in 2028 but 2035,” the Premier addressed.

“This dog was easy to control. It helps me amending the constitution from two-third majority to 50+1 [to resolve political deadlocks].”

The Premier also asked Rainsy to swear on his life and the lives of his family and colleagues for accusing Hun Sen of murdering former police chief.

The reaction came after Rainsy wrote on Facebook on 2 June, stating that Hun Sen was behind Hok Lundy's death, saying Hun Sen murdered the former police chief by implanting the bomb in the helicopter.

Rainsy also accused Dy Vichea, the eldest son of Hok Lundy and in-law of Prime Minister Hun Sen, of plotting a revenge against the Premier by cooperating with Minister of Interior Sar Kheng.

Political commentators stated that Sam Rainsy should agree to swear on his accusations, otherwise, he would be allegedly charged with “incitement”.

“Among the ruling CPP, we do not have norms of betraying one another for power,” the Premier underlined.
