Phnom Penh (FN), June 19 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Council and former Minister of Science and Technology of China, on Wednesday at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

Eang Sophalleth, Prime Minister’s personal secretary, said that during the meeting, Wan Gang informed the premier that this was his first time visiting Cambodia and witnessed the kingdom’s development.

The vice-chairman added that his visit has two purposes: to pay respect to Prime Minister Hun Sen and to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, especially in science and technology fields.

Premier Hun Sen stated that the cooperation in science and technology sector requires potential human resources in research and development, especially in the digital era or in the industrial revolution 4.0; thus, Cambodia needs China’s assistance.

He recommended the Chinese side to work with the Royal Academy of Cambodia, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training in Cambodia.
