Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 15 – The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology Lim Kean Hor urged the media to publish real situation regarding flood and drought issues in Cambodia, addressing at the Press Conference on "Flood Update" at the Council of Ministers.
“I would like to request people to spread updated situation. Some published old photos from previous year and complained of the issues,” said Lim Kean Hor.
“Flood and drought are technical issues, please do not mix it with politics,” he added.
National Committee for Disaster Management spokesperson Keo Vy said that although some provinces were affected by flood, some provinces such as Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Siem Reap were affected by drought.
“More than 10,000 hectares of paddy fields in Battambang; about 30,000 hectares in Banteay Meanchey and more than 18,000 hectares in Siem Reap province have been damaged,” stated Keo Vy.
