Phnom Penh (FN), Sept. 12 - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Laotian counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith signed five Cambodia-Laos agreements during a bilateral meeting at the Peace Palace on Thursday morning.

The five agreements are as follows:

1: Memorandum of Understanding on Labor Cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), signed by Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, Ith Sam Heng, and Laotian Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Khampheng Saysompheng.

2 - Agreement on Energy Cooperation between the RGC and Lao PDR signed by Cambodian Minister of Mines and Energy Suy Sem, and Lao Minister of Energy and Mines, Khammany Inthirath.

3. Agreement on Electricity Cooperation between Cambodia and Laos for the importation of 500MW of electricity from Laos, signed by Director General of Electricity of Cambodia Keo Rattanak, awaiting for a the Laotian side.

4: Agreement on Electricity Cooperation between Cambodia and TSBP SEKONG POWER AND MINERAL COMPANY LIMITED on 600MW hydroelectric power plant project in Sekong, Laos, signed by Keo Rottanak, awaiting for the Laotian side.

5: Agreement to buy electricity between Cambodia and the XEKONG THERMAL POWER PLANT COMPANY LIMITED on 1,800 MW coal-fired power plant project in Sekong, signed by Keo Rottanak, awaiting for the Laotian side.

Prime Minister of Lao People’s Democratic Republic Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith and a high-level delegates arrived in Cambodia at 9:30 a.m on Thursday for a two-day official visit from 12-13 September 2019, at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
