Phnom Penh (FN), Sept. 17 -- The UK government announced that it will continue to provide a preferential trade scheme to Cambodia even after Brexit, according to Heather Wheeler PM, parliamentary under-secretary of state, minister for Asia and the Pacific at Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom.

The British high-ranking diplomat stated during a meeting with Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn, held at the ministry on Tuesday.

“The UK will continue to provide preferential trade scheme to Cambodia and other 48 less developed countries even after Brexit in the near future,” Meas Kimheng, under secretary of state of foreign affairs ministry, quoted Heather Wheeler.

Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed his profound gratitude to Wheeler and took note of the UK’s contributions to Cambodia’s development, particularly in the areas of education, demining, and the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
