Czech (FN), Oct. 14 – Oknha Kith Meng, Cambodian tycoon and president of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, requested Czech investors to invest in a small-scale aircraft manufacturing in Cambodia, addressing at the trade meeting presided over by Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak and Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, held on 14 October in Prague.

Tycoon Meng suggested Czech Republic to assist Cambodia’s aviation, as he sees that aircraft productions and pilot trainings will contribute to the promotion of tourism sector in Cambodia.

Meng mentioned that Czech is a country with advanced technology, but currently has no markets in Cambodia. He recommended Czech investors to consider investing on information technology and security intelligence sectors.

Oknha Meng also requested Czech government to launch direct flights between Cambodia-Czech to promote trade and tourism between the two countries.

While Cambodia-Czech trade volume is still small, approximately USD 240 million in 2018, Meng stressed that the Czech Republic and Cambodia have many potential for investment on sectors like agriculture, industry, tourism, food processing, construction, automobile, electricity, and healthcare.

Cambodia-Czech Chamber of Commerce concluded the meeting by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Trade Cooperation.
