Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 7 – Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on people who have conspired to commit treason to confess in order to be pardoned.

The call was made at the ceremony on official implementation of National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) 2019-2023, held at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

“Now you are hiding in Cardamom Mountain. Come out and enjoy Water Festival. No activities, no arrests,” said the premier.

He addressed that the outlawed opposition’s freedom of expressions have passed the redline, for they announced the arrest of the elected prime minister and ordered the king to abdicate.

The Strongman announced that he abides the democratic process and gives all the rights to those who win the elections, not those who usurp the power by attempting a coup to overthrow the legitimate government and arrest the ruling prime minister.

“I respect the democracy – respect those who compete through elections,” he underlined.

"My foreign friends shall understand that we have to manage a situation, as we have gone through indescribable pain due to the terms democracy and human rights, followed by the coup which massacred millions of lives," Prime Minister Hun Sen said.

"We have sacrificed countless of lives and blood to earn the first absolute peace and unity nationwide in the history of 500 years.”

"We have invested our lives to search for peace and unity; hence, we must take actions to ensure that our people will not be dead, injured, or separated like in the past,” he added.

Premier Hun Sen underlined that the real human rights is the right to life, the right not to be threatened with death or to be injured in war.
