Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 12 – Former leader of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Sam Rainsy has presented evidence to Kem Sokha’s treason case, speaking in an interview with the US-backed Radio Free Asia on 12 December 2019.

“Hun Sen must be aware that CNRP’s political program is written by foreign experts, not ordinary people, but two German foundations, including Konrad Adenauer and Friedrich Naumann,” said Sam Rainsy.

“It means CNRP has conspired with Germany, the two major German foundations,” he added.

Analyst said Sam Rainsy wanted to see Kem Sokha be put under judicial control, so that Rainsy continues to manage the dissolved party.

Kem Sokha, president of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), has been accused of conspiring with foreigners to topple the legitimate Royal Government of Cambodia.

Sokha was arrested in his house in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district at midnight of 3 September 2017 for act of treason as stipulated and punishable under the Cambodian Criminal Code, Chapter 2 (Infringements on Security of the State), Part 1 (Treason and Espionage), and Article 443 (Conspiracy with Foreign Power).
