Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 2 – The phrase “Thank Peace” has become predominant among the Cambodian public after Prime Minister Hun Sen used it as a political message to wish his compatriots for the New Year 2020.

Today, 2 January 2020, many banners have been attached below the names of public schools, hospitals, government and armed forces administrative buildings.

“Thank my countrymen for supporting my political message [Thank Peace], which I find to be immutably priceless for today and tomorrow,” Premier Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook on Thursday.

He continued to appeal for his countrymen to help preserve peace.

Addressing in late December at the inauguration of border market, he said: “We must maintain peace and stability. They are the most important things, more than democracy, human rights, and development.”

“Before we can think of development, we must think of peace first.”
