Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 14 – At the invitation of His Excellency Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, His Excellency Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a delegation to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) to be held on 16-17 January 2020 in Nha Trang, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, according to the ministry’s press release dated Tuesday.

Under the theme “Cohesive and Responsive”, the AMM Retreat will be a platform for ASEAN Foreign Ministers to exchange their views and thoughts on ways and means to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and to further enhance ASEAN unity, integration and connectivity, common identity, engagement with the global community as well as institutional capacity, the press release said.

“As ASEAN Chair in 2020, Viet Nam has set out five key priorities mainly focusing on enhancement of ASEAN’s active role and contribution to the maintenance of regional peace, security and stability; intensification of ASEAN’s economic integration and connectivity; promotion of ASEAN awareness and identity; reinforcement of partnerships for peace and sustainable development; and increase of ASEAN’s institutional capacity and efficiency,” the press release added.
