Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 23 – Government Lawyer Ky Tech said that Kem Sokha’s lawyer team seemed regretful after submitting a full video clip as the evidence to the judging council.

“For this morning hearing, I can reflect that Kem Sokha’s lawyers seemed regretful after submitting the evidence. Sokha as well as his lawyers were stuck during the legal debate with the judging council and the plaintiff,” Ky Tech spoke to the press after a hearing on 23 January 2020.

At the first session of Kem Sokha’s trial held on 15 January 2020, Sokha rebutted to the judging council that the previous video clip, which the government lawyer submitted as evidence, lacks important parts that serve his interests.

Kem Sokha gave to the judging council a new USB containing full video clip, which Sokha believed would serve his interests.

Kem Sokha has been accused of conspiring with foreigners to topple the legitimate Royal Government of Cambodia. If found guilty, he faces up to 30 years imprisonment.
