Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 23 – Secretary of State at Health Ministry Or Vandin dismissed a fake news spread on Facebook, claiming that Wuhan has entered Cambodia through Sihanoukville International Airport.
Vandin appeals to the public not to trust information from Facebook source, but wait for the updates from the Ministry of Health.
"At this moment, there is not a single case of pneumonia detected in Cambodia. The only trusted source regarding the new virus must be from the Ministry of Health,” Vandin told Fresh News on Thursday.
Wuhan coronavirus, a cousin of the SARS virus, has infected hundreds since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December.
Of more than 570 people who have been infected, 17 have died. The virus has spread to five other countries: Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the US, according to international media's report.
