Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 24 – Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen announced three measures to cope with the spread of Covid-19, which has become a global challenge, especially exacerbated trade wars and degraded economic growth.

The premier on Monday at the press conference held at the Peace Palace.

“The Royal Government takes all aspects into consideration to help all stakeholders and promote growth in potential sectors with three measures including: assisting the most vulnerable companies so that they can continue their businesses; supporting factories workers in case of factories closed or their jobs suspended; and supporting SMEs, the backbone of the national economy,” he said.

Covid-19 has seriously affected Cambodia’s tourism and garment sector due to lacks of raw materials.

Prime minister is optimistic that the measures introduced would not only minimise the negative impacts of Covid-19 but also promote Cambodia’s competitiveness when the virus has gone.
