Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 4 – Chinese Embassy in Cambodia wrote on its Facebook page on Wednesday that Premier Hun Sen’s working visit to China has paved way for growth in Cambodian rice exports to China.

“According to the Cambodian Rice Federation, after the visit of Samdech Techo Hun Sen to China, the figure of Cambodian rice exported to China has increased significantly. In the first two months of 2020, Cambodia exported a total of 13,600 tonnes of milled rice, up 22 percent compared to same period last year,” the Chinese Embassy wrote.

Cambodia earned about USD 500 million from 620,000 tons of rice export in 2019. China bought 248,105 tons of rice from Cambodia.
