Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 16 – The Japanese Government invited the Royal Government of Cambodia to attend the fourth Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) to be held in Japan in October 2020.

Ishikawa Hiroshi, assistant to minister of foreign affairs of Japan extended the invitation to Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, held Monday at the ministry.

Koy Kuong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will attend the APWS.

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (4th APWS) will be held in October 2020 in Kumamoto City, Japan, in which high-level delegates including heads of states and representatives from international organizations in the Asia-Pacific region will discuss various water-related issues.

The 4th APWS will share with the world the long-standing efforts of the host city, Kumamoto, in conserving groundwater as well as its recovering efforts from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes.
