Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 25 – Cambodian King, Queen Mother, and people have fundraised USD 9 million to support the Royal Government of Cambodia fighting Covid-19, according to the Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The premier spoke in a meeting with 400 volunteered doctors to fight Covid-19 on 25 March 2020 at the Peace Palace.

“On behalf of the Royal Government, I would like to thank His Majesty King and Her Majesty Queen Mother for initiating this humanitarian contributions,” stated the premier.

Starting on 17 March 2020, King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have donated USD 300,000 to the Cambodian Government to combat Covid-19.

“Today, we have received approximately USD 9 million in total,” the premier said.

Strongman Hun Sen announced that the Royal Government will open to receive donations until the end of Covid-19.

“Once we won the battle against Covid-19, the remaining funds will be donated to Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital to bring smiles to Cambodian children,” he underlined.
