Phnom Penh (FN), May. 11 – German Ambassador to Cambodia Christian Berger met with Kem Sokha, leader of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party, at Sokha’s residence in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork on Monday.
“German Ambassador congratulated the meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Kem Sokha held on 5 May 2020. The ambassador expressed his support for the meeting and said it is a positive sign,” Muth Chantha, Sokha's cabinet chief, wrote on his Facebook page shortly after the meeting.
Both sides also discussed the situation and livelihood of the Khmer people during Covid-19 outbreak, Chantha added.
It is worth noting that Kem Sokha paid tribute at the funeral of mother-in-law of Prime Minister Hun Sen on 5 May at the premier's residence in Phnom Penh's Daun Penh district.
