Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 9 – Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen praised the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for opening Cambodian mango market to China.

The two countries signed an official treaty on the "Required Conditions on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Certificate for Exporting Fresh Mango from Cambodia to China" on Tuesday morning, witnessed by Minister Veng Sakhon and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian.

The premier said that this is good news for farmers and businessmen who are growing and investing in mangoes.

“By exporting mangoes to China, it will provide more jobs and income for the people, especially during the time of Covid-19,” said Prime Minister Hun Sen.

With the signed agreement, Cambodia can export 500,000 tonnes of high quality mangoes to the Chinese market every year.
