Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said Thursday that 290 military trucks the Royal Government of Cambodia purchased from China has become significantly effective for the Royal Government to evacuate people affected by floods.

The premier underlined that the decision to purchase military vehicles is to serve nation and Cambodian people, while the budget is fundraised from donors, not the national budget.

"We are using these trucks to evacuate. We bought 290 military trucks to serve the military services […] Now these trucks are not only for national defense, but also help the people in time of needs," said the premier.

According to the Prime Minister, the purchases cost USD 20 million dollars thanks to the generous donors.
