Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 1 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday said that fighting against COVID19 does not depend on wealth, advanced science or modern technology, but requires good leadership and citizen participation.

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that all developed countries with advanced medical and technology still have many people infected and died from COVID19, but less developed countries in ASEAN, including Cambodia, Laos, East Timor, have lower reported cases and no deaths.

COVID19 is a global issue, which requires the world to join hands to combat the pandemic.

"It's not time to blame anyone, but the time to cooperate and share experience together in solving this global pandemic," said Prime Minister Hun Sen.

"Cambodia is not safe yet, as her neighbor Thailand is facing community transmission," the premier said.

At least 136 Cambodians migrant workers were tested positive in Thailand and about 70-80 Cambodian others returning from Thailand to Cambodia were also tested positive."
