Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered all relevant authorities and the armed forces to take serious actions in combating the spread of COVID19 from Vietnam into Cambodia, according to a voice message obtained by Fresh News on Thursday.

"All people, both Cambodian and the Vietnamese, crossing Cambodia-Vietnam borders must undergo a 14-day quarantine,” said the premier.

He continued that, “The success in combating the spread of virus at the border depends entirely on the provincial authorities headed by governors. [Every province] must thoroughly monitor border crossing and strictly enforce quarantines.”

He also advised the Ministry of Health to provide sufficient supplies needed for quarantines at the provinces bordering Vietnam, from Kep/Kampot in the South to Ratanakiri in the North.

For the upcoming Chinese-Vietnamese New Year next week, Premier Hun Sen ordered the authorities to immediately deploy forces to prevent people from entering and leaving the borders uninformed.
