Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 7 – Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian announced that the government of the People’s Republic of China will continue to assist Cambodia to fully overcome OVID19 pandemic.

His announcement was made Sunday at the handover ceremony of Sinopharm vaccines from China to Cambodia at Phnom Penh International Airport.

“China will further deepen the cooperation with Cambodia to combat COVID19 and will continue to provide as much assistance as possible to Cambodia to successfully prevent the spread of COVID19,” said the ambassador.

Ambassador Wang also stressed that Cambodia is one of the first countries to receive vaccines from China. Since the outbreak, the governments of the two sides have helped each other overcome difficulties together, in line with the motto, “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.

According to the ambassador, Chinese medical experts also organized a training for Cambodian team to combat COVID19.

The 600,000 doses of Chinese-aided COVID19 vaccine arrived Cambodia at 4 p.m on Sunday.

China announced to provide 1 million doses of COVID19 vaccines to Cambodia. For the first phase, 300,000 doses will be handed to Ministry of Health and the other 300,000 doses to Ministry of Defense.
