Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister announced that journalists shall be in the priority list to receive COVID19 vaccination, as they are publicly active, addressing at the press conference held Sunday at Phnom Penh International Airport.

"Ministry of Health shall consider journalists in vaccination priority list, for they wander everywhere,” he said.

Samdech also advised the Ministry of Health to cooperate with the Ministry of Information to arrange the vaccination for the journalists, and the media outlets can also contact the Ministry of Health directly.

President of the Club of Cambodian Journalists Pen Bona expressed his gratitude for the premier’s sympathy and he considered the premier’s decision as an encouragement for journalists who serve the public.

“Whether it is a big event or an official meeting with locals or foreigners, journalists make many contacts with people, so they highly face COVID19 threats. It is great that the premier let journalists get jab first,” said Pen Bona.

According to the Ministry of Information, Cambodia currently has 310 publication media outlets, 400 websites and online TV stations, 200 TV stations, 221 radio stations and 22 representative offices of foreign news agencies, TV and radio, including the Voice of America (VOA).
