Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 18 - Fortune Life Insurance plc was granted an operating license by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 24th June 2020. One of the first locations the company established itself in was Kampong Thom and Fortune Life is the first life insurer to have a formal presence there.

Fortune Life has a strong sense of social responsibility and, through its Fortune Life in the Community program, is committed to support the communities it serves.

On 10 February 2021, and with the support of the Department of Education and Kampong Thom Provincial Hall, Fortune Life visited Kampong Rotas Lower Secondary School. The company donated school benches, library books, stationery, face masks and alcohol cleanser to the school, as well as plant trees on the school campus. The event was attended by H.E Prim Rottha and Oknha Ly Kunthai.

“The aim of ‘Fortune Life in the Community’ is to help make local communities better places to live and work, and where better to begin than at one of Kampong Thom’s schools”, said Dominick Williams, Fortune Life CEO. “Helping young people to have the best possible start in life is extremely important. I hope that our support can contribute to improving students’ lives and futures as well as enhance community development in Kampong Thom.”

Doung Dararith, the School Principal remarked, “I am so excited and grateful for Fortune Life’s contributions to the school. The benches will be well used by our students for self-study and socialization. The reading books and dictionaries will enrich our library resources. Fortune Life’s visit and donations have brought smiles to our students’ faces and motivated them to further their education”.

The Kampong Thom Deputy Provincial Governor, H.E Prim Rottha said that the presence of Fortune Life Insurance in the province is very welcome. Not only is it helping to create jobs for local people but it is also increasing people’s financial well-being and peace of mind.

H.E Prim Rottha urged everyone in Kampong Thom to collectively prevent the spread of COVID 19. He also asked that traffic rules and regulations to be obeyed when travelling, for everyone’s safety.

As part of a wider contribution to the community, Fortune Life has also commenced a program to provide benches in public parks around Kampong Thom.
