Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 11 – As of 11 April 2021, Cambodia has vaccinated 1 million armed forces, civil servants, and civilians nationwide, according to a press release seen by Fresh News dated 11 April 2021.

Panh Savannarith, 36, residing at Sangkat Choam Chao, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, was the 1,000,000th person to be vaccinated, while the first person was Lt. General Hun Manet, Prime Minister Hun Sen’s eldest son.

Sovanrith went to get jab at Santhormok School, Sangkat Toek Laak on 11 April 2021.

The premier told Fresh New CEO Lim Chea Vutha earlier today that he announced to grant 5 million Riels (approximately USD 1,000) to Sovannrith for being the 1,000,000th person. The grant will be handed over by Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health Or Vandine.

At least 500,000 doses of COVID19 vaccine will arrive in Cambodia on 17 April; 1.5 million in May; 3 million in June; 2 million in July; and 1 million in August.

The Royal Government of Cambodia prepared 20 million doses of COVID19 vaccines for 10 million Cambodian people for free of charge.

As of 31 March 2021, China has provided 2.8 million vaccines to the Kingdom, including 1.3 million in donation and 1.5 million through commercial procurement.
