Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 – Cambodian Premier Hun Sen congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping on the successful landing of Zhurong spacecraft on Mars.

“On behalf of the Royal Government and people of Cambodia, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency, the Government and people of China on the successful landing of Zhurong spacecraft on Mars in its Tianwen-1 mission on 15 May 2021. This is another milestone achievement which highlights China's continued progress in its space program and interplanetary exploration,” the premier wrote in a letter dated 18 May.

“I strongly believe that this great achievement will significantly contribute to the scientific research of China's outer space mission, which in turn will benefit the scientific development of mankind.”

Zhurong is the god of fire in ancient Chinese mythology, which echoes with the Chinese name of the red planet, Huoxing (meaning the planet of fire), Chinese local media reported.
