Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 5 – Angkor Social Innovation Park (ASIP) was virtually launched on Zoom on 5 June 2021.

The event was attended by Prof. Chhem Kieth Rethy, Board Member of the Asian Vision Institute; Khieu Mealy, Senior Partner of SokSiphana & Associates, a member of Zicolaw, and ASIP’s advisor; Mao Sophaline, Founder & CEO of S.O. Cloud Solutions LLC, and ASIP’s advisor; and Dr. Chheang Vannarith, President of AVI, founder and director of ASIP, according to a joint press release between Asian Vision Institute and ASIP.

“ASIP is a social enterprise affiliated with the Asian Vision Institute. The mission of ASIP is to deliver impact with innovation. It aims to develop and share knowledge on social innovation and provide sustainable and innovative solutions to local Cambodian enterprises through capacity building, innovation, upskilling or reskilling of enterprises.”

Prof. Chhem Kieth Rethy strongly supports the promotion of innovation culture and capacity in Cambodia, and ASIP will provides more value adds to Cambodia’s social innovation.

He said that “Cambodia is moving toward a new era of innovation thanks to the increasing number of millennials started to get involved shaping and molding innovation trajectory.”

Khieu Mealy stated that we are entering into a modern economy driven by creativity and innovation.

She pointed out that it is important that this generation has to continually seek for innovation, embrace changes and diversity, unleash creativity, and be courageous. She is confident that ASIP will serve as a platform to steer the debate on the prospective and the emerging opportunities arising from social innovation.

Mao Sophaline expressed how crucial innovation is in every single journey whether it is a personal or professional journey, business or nation building. Through ASIP, she offered herself as a bridge to connect Cambodia’s innovation and the outside world’s especially when she has a professional career in technology in California, America.
