Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 24 – Cambodia’s king Norodom Sihamoni commended the efforts of the National Assembly president Heng Samrin, and Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen for effectively and efficiently taking measures to curb COVID19 outbreak, according to the royal message delivered at the opening of the 6th session of the National Assembly of the 6th legislature on 24 June 2021.

"The National Assembly has thoroughly and timely studied draft law on measures to prevent the spread of COVID19 and other deadly infectious diseases, as well as urgently adopted it for publc good," his majesty king stated.

King Sihamoni also thanked the international community including the World Health Organization (WHO) and China for providing COVID19 vaccines assistances to Cambodia.

"We can not predict when COVID19 can be eradicated from Earth. I would like to call on all nations to continue to work together to ensure that all our people are vaccinated.”

Cambodia’s National Assembly, on 24 June, convened its sixth session of the sixth legislature after a three-month postponement. The assembly discuss on nine agendas, including the vote of confidence to elect the new chairman of the National Election Committee.
