Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 26 – Cambodia will have a total of 20 million doses of COVID19 vaccine by August and get everyone vaccinated by November 2021, secretary of state of Ministry of Economy Vongsey Visoth said at the welcoming ceremony of Sinovac vaccines on Saturday morning.

He highlighted that Cambodia has spent USD 170 million on vaccine purchases to inoculate 10 million Cambodian people for free of charge. Cambodia has vaccinated nearly 4 million of its 16 million population, which is the second highest rate in the ASEAN region after Singapore. The World Bank also praised the Kingdom for this achievement.

Visoth said, "Indeed, Cambodia-China ties play an important role in vaccination program.”

Visoth added that the vaccination plan will be achieved with the strong support of the Royal Government under a wise leadership of prime minister Hun Sen and officials in charge, as well as the support of the Chinese government.
