Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 23 – The first batch of Japan-manufactured AstraZeneca vaccine, containing around 330,000 doses, arrived in Cambodia today and the remaining doses will arrive over the next few weeks, according to Japanese Embassy in Cambodia’s press release dated Friday.

Before handing over of vaccines, ambassador of Japan to Cambodia Mikami Masahiro paid courtesy call to Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and handed a letter from Japanes prime minister Suga Yoshihide, Prime Minister of Japan.

“Japan will continue to cooperate with the Royal Government of Cambodia to ensure the provision of necessary goods and equipment. We hope this donation will support the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts to defeat COVID19, as well as helping to relieve some of the anxieties of the Cambodian people.”
