Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 1 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said the world, including Southeast Asia, has been raged by the new COVID19 Delta virus.

The premier spoke at the start of the campaign to vaccinate children aged 12-17 years old, held on Sunday at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

"Every country in Southeast Asia, except Brunei, has very high infection cases. Remarkably, Singapore, even with strict control, the number of cases also increases to three digits. Indonesia got the hardest hit by Delta variant, followed by Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam,” the premier said.

Samdech Hun Sen expressed his condolences to the families of those who died of COVID19 disease. He called on all countries to jointly prevent the spread of COVID19 pandemic.
