Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen underlined that COVID19 will not be over soon, therefore he called on all people to live with the new normal.

The premier said every country will adapt, not just Cambodia.

"No sign that COVID19 would disappear shortly. It may stay with us for a long time, like the flu. What we need to do is to implement protective measures.”

In order to curb the spread of the deadly virus, the premier announced preventative measures, including: strengthening the borders control; conducting special and rapid tests at the border; setting up proper quarantine areas; and separating those who tested positive for the new Delta variant and enforcing quarantine for 21 days.

To date, Cambodia has confirmed 77,914 cases of COVID19 with 70,754 recoveries and 1,420 deaths.
