Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 3 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn co-chaired the 2nd Mekong-US Partnership Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (MUSP MM) with US secretary of state Antony Blinken via videoconference on 3 August 2021.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the cooperation since the 1st virtual Mekong-US Partnership Ministerial Meeting on 11 September 2020 and chart out its future direction, aiming at further enhancing and promoting stable, resilient, inclusive and sustainably prosperous Mekong sub-region, taking into consideration of the COVID19 pandemic and the sub-region’s post-pandemic socio-economic recovery.

The 2nd virtual MUSP MM demonstrated a strong friendship and successful collaboration between the Mekong countries and the US and provide potential opportunities for tangible and beneficial cooperation contributing to the sustainable development in the Mekong sub-region and ASEAN Community Building efforts.
