Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 9 – The Seventh Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit brought together GMS countries’ heads of Governments and the ADB president, on Thursday, to assess progress made under the GMS Economic Cooperation Program (GMS Program) and renew their commitment to the subregional cooperation.

The Summit was hosted by the Royal Government of Cambodia under the theme “Renewed Strength to Face the Challenges of the New Decade.”

“The 7th GMS Summit reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to the advancement of the GMS Program. Reiterating their support, they have endorsed the (i) GMS Strategic Framework 2030 (GMS-2030), the new strategy to guide the Program in the new decade, and the (ii) GMS COVID19 Response and Recovery Plan 2021-2023, a supplement to the GMS-2030 that supports the health and economic recovery of the subregion in the medium-term”, according to Council for the Development of Cambodia’s press release dated Thursday.
