Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 12 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the Cambodia-China iron-clad friendship means stronger mutual trust as comprehensive strategic partners, and no external pressure can break the bonds, speaking on Sunday at the handover ceremony of Morodok Techo National Stadium.

Cambodia's Hun Sen also recalled that Cambodia and China established the diplomatic relationship on 19 July 1958 after the bilateral meeting between the late king father Norodom Sihanouk and Chinese premier Zhou Enlai on the sidelines of 1954 Bandung Conference in Indonesia. Later on, this historic friendly relationship was further strengthened by Sihanouk and chairman Mao Zedong as well as past and present dignitaries of Cambodia and China.

"We have become friends within the framework of strategic partnership in all aspects. Chinese president Xi Jinping himself called this friendship as an ironclad. Here, by definition, I understand that the bond is based on trust," the premier added.

Cambodia and China have maintained and further enhanced this strong friendship to reach a new height “Cambodia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” on 13 December 2010.
