Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 13 – Foreign minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi departed Phnom Penh on Monday at 9 a.m. after concluding his two-day official visit.

During the visit, Wang Yi paid a courtesy call on Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and had a working breakfast with deputy prime minister Hor Namhong.

Wang Yi also held a bilateral meeting with minister Prak Sokhonn, during which various aspects of bilateral cooperation such as the fight against COVID19, trade and investment, education, security and national defense, as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concern discussed.

On the occasion, the Chinese side also pledged to import more Cambodia's agricultural products to the Chinese market.

Prime minister Hun Sen and minister Wang Yi presided over the handover ceremony of the Morodok Techo National Stadium which will be the centerpiece venue for Cambodia’s 2023 SEA Games.

The Chinese government pledged to provide Cambodia an additional 3 million doses of COVID19 vaccine to give booster shot to Cambodian people with free of charge.

The premier and Wang Yi also witnessed and presided over the signing ceremony on six important bilateral documents.
