Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 29 – Yim Sinorn, former youth president of the court-dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) in South Korea, wrote a letter requesting for Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen’s intervention to drop charges against him and accomplices.

The request came after Sinorn found that the premier has recently intervened to drop charges against Seng Sary, wise move supported by the national and international opinion.

According to the letter addressed to the premier seen by Fresh News on Wednesday, Yim Sinorn said he and other former members used to lead a nonviolent demonstration. However, they did not support the 9 November repatriation movement launched by Sam Rainsy, for the movement incited for hatred against the king and called on armed forces to launch coup against the legitimate government.

“For the above reasons, we were attacked by extremists of the court-dissolved CNRP. We were accused of joining the repatriation movement. The Cambodian authority issued arrest warrants against us,” Sinorn wrote.

The “9 November repatriation movement” was created by convict Sam Rainsy, setting the date for his return to Cambodia and calling for the armed forces and the people to launch coup against the ruling government.

Sam Rainsy and entourages were charged with "assault" under Article 27 and 451 of the Penal Code in connection with an attempted coup to overthrow the legitimate government.

In addition to criminal punishment, the court decided to completely deprive them of the “right to vote and the right to stand for elections."

The plan of Sam Rainsy and his accomplices above is a wicked scheme. Their plan failed as the government forces quickly prevented and suppressed it.
