Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 14 – Two million doses of China-aided Sinovac vaccine arrived Phnom Penh on Thursday.

The first package of 2 million doses arrived today is part of China's pledge to provide an additional 3 million doses to inoculate as booster shot for Cambodian people for free of charge.

As of 14 October, Cambodia has inoculated 99.3 percent of its target 10 million adults, more than 90 percent for children aged 12 to under 18 years old, and more than 97 percent for children aged 6 to under 12 years old. More than 1 million people have received third dose or booster shot.

Cambodia has so far vaccinated over 84 percent of the total population. Cambodian government plans to build a strong herd immunity by fully vaccinating up to 91 percent of the total population of 16 million.
