Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 14 – The executive committee members of the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) have decided to establish a new Football League Company to operate and develop the Cambodian league into a more professional one, and appointed former FC Barcelona marketing manager and FIFA advisor Satoshi Saito as the company’s CEO.

This FFC’s initiative will ensure the development and success for Cambodian football in the future, including the preparation for the 2023 SEA Games, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Thursday.

"This is a new era of Cambodian football. Looking at other countries, having a high quality professional league will contribute to the success of the national team and strengthen the football ecosystem," said Sao Sokha, president of the federation.

"I believe that Satoshi, who has much experience in managing football, is one of the most suitable individuals for the future of the newly established Cambodian Football League. We will work closely with our stakeholders,” he added.

"My priority is to re-evaluate the organization of the league, through improving management and cooperation with member clubs, strengthening overall operations, and enhancing our relationship with stakeholders to jointly transform and develop our Cambodian football in a sustainable mannerr," said CEO Satoshi Saito.
