Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 26 – The World Health Organization (WHO) in the Western Pacific Region praised Cambodia’s efforts in fighting against COVID19, Health Ministry’s secretary of state Youk Sambath told Fresh News earlier today.

Sambath attended the 72nd meeting of the WHO in the Western Pacific Region, hosted virtually by Japan on 25-29 October 2021.

Cambodia, under the wise leadership of premier Hun Sen, has set out effective measures in a timely manner to prevent the outbreak of COVID19. As of 25 October, Cambodia has inoculated 99.8 percent of its target 10 million adults, more than 90.7 percent for children aged 12 to under 18 years old, and 100 percent for children aged 6 to under 12 years old.

Cambodia has so far vaccinated over 85 percent of the total population. More than 1.7 million people have received third dose or booster shot.
