Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 9 – Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni issued a royal message appointing Senate president Say Chhum to assume the title of the acting Head of State to extinguish the kingdom's victory flame at the Independence Monument on 11 November 2021.

According to the royal message, the king also informed his compatriots about his absence from the motherland to attend the 41st General Conference of UNESCO, which will be held on 10-14 November 2021 in Paris, French Republic.

“On 12 November 2021, in the presence of numerous Heads of State and Government, king Sihamoni will deliver a royal speech at the official Opening Ceremony of the General Conference which centers on the crucial achievements of UNESCO in Cambodia,” according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Monday.
