Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 16 – Chestertons has announced the “next stage” of its global expansion, with a new office launch in Asia and a strengthened resi offering in Dubai.

The 216-year-old agency has added to its 100-strong network of international branches with new signing in Cambodia. The acquisition of Phnom Penh-based Focus Property Co marks the firm’s first foray into this “key, fast-growing” market, ahead of a planned expansion across the region.

Due to launch as Chestertons Cambodia in early 2022, the team of 55 will be headed up by Meath Chy and Chanthou SAM and offer the full range of resi and commercial services, with property management a speciality.

Meanwhile, the Dubai team has been bolstered by the arrival of ex-Savills director Lucy Bush as agency director, along with fellow Savills alumni Hannah Worrall, and Nicola Milton, who has joined from CBRE. The business has reported a 50% jump in the value of resi transactions over the last quarter, citing the launch of attractive new visa initiatives as a key factor.

Salah Mussa, chairman of Chestertons: “We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Chestertons Cambodia and welcome Focus Property to the ever-expanding Chestertons family. As the latest partner to join our franchising team, Chestertons Cambodia will benefit from our vast network and expertise, and of course the world-famous Chestertons brand.

The team’s core focus on property management represents a new string to our bow. The high bar the team sets in professionalism and ethical ways of working is a great fit for us.

“At the same time, our residential team in Dubai is on a growth trajectory, and we are pleased to welcome Lucy, Hannah and Nicola to the Chestertons team. We expect the Dubai team to go from strength to strength under their leadership.

“These announcements are further examples of the impressive growth of the Chestertons Global franchising business. Over the last 12 months we have gained a presence in seven new markets and now operate in 15 countries around the globe. We don’t plan to rest on our laurels; we hope to continue this exciting momentum with further global growth planned in 2022 and beyond.”
