Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 26 – The 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13) Summit successfully adopted three significant outcome documents, taking place on Friday via videoconference.

The outcome documents are ASEM13 Chair’s Statement, Phnom Penh Statement on the Post-COVID19 Socio-Economic Recovery, and The Way Forward on ASEM Connectivity.

“These 3 documents truly reflect the commitment, solidarity and joint efforts of all Leaders of ASEM Partners to reinforce multilateralism for a better, stronger, more inclusive and more resilient future of Asia-Europe partnership”, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen spoke at the joint press conference of the summit.

“Leaders of ASEM Partners remain committed to the efforts towards building a harmonious, competitive, resilient and sustainable ASEM community for the peoples of Asia and Europe as well as a dynamic future of Asia-Europe cooperation based on ASEM’s core principles of informality, flexibility, and mutual respect in the spirit of consensus and equal partnership.”

“The ASEM13 has provided a special and timely opportunity for all Leaders of ASEM Partners to demonstrate our joint commitment to promoting peace and security, as well as providing pragmatic solutions to the current regional and global challenges, such as the COVID19 pandemic and socio-economic recovery, public health and safety, youth employment, climate change, WTO reforms, terrorism, and regional and global security issues, among others,” the premier underlined.
